THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Open Digital Services is looking for a Cloud Architecture Engineer based out of Madrid, or remotely within Spain. As a Cloud Architecture Engineer within the Data Management department, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, operating and evolving the AWS cloud infrastructure that supports the ODS Datalake and its cloud-based data ecosystem. You will be responsible for defining scalable, secure and maintainable cloud solutions while ensuring the reliability, availability and operational excellence of production environments. You will work closely with Data Engineering, Security, Operations and Product teams to translate business and technical requirements into cloud-native solutions. This role combines cloud architecture, platform engineering and operational responsibilities, requiring strong knowledge of AWS services, automation, infrastructure as code and data platform technologies. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: - Designing, implementing and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure supporting data platforms and business-critical workloads. - Defining cloud architecture patterns, standards and best practices for scalability, security, reliability and cost optimization. - Managing and supporting AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch and related cloud-native technologies. - Deploying and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles and tools such as CloudFormation and AWS CDK. - Monitoring platform health, investigating incidents and implementing corrective and preventive actions. - Managing access controls, permissions and security configurations following AWS best practices. - Collaborating with Data Engineering teams to support data pipelines, processing environments and production operations. - Supporting and evolving Data Lake environments, ensuring platform reliability, availability and performance. - Designing automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention. - Identifying architectural risks, performance bottlenecks and infrastructure improvement opportunities. - Contributing to documentation, operational procedures,...
