Descripción: The energy industry is evolving, and so are we. At Axpo´s Generative AI Competence Center, we believe AI is becoming a natural part of how people work, helping employees access knowledge, automate tasks, and build smarter digital solutions. We are looking for a Forward Deployed AI Engineer to accelerate AI adoption within one of Axpo´s business areas, initially supporting teams across the CEO and COO divisions, including Strategy, Communications, Procurement, HR, IT, Legal, and other corporate functions. You will work directly with business experts to identify opportunities, rapidly prototype AI solutions, and turn promising ideas into practical tools that create measurable value. As part of the Generative AI Competence Center, you will collaborate closely with AI engineers, product owners, and other Forward Deployed AI Engineers to share reusable components, engineering best practices, and lessons learned across the company. What you will do - Partner with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and identify high-impact opportunities for AI. - Rapidly prototype AI solutions together with users to validate ideas and demonstrate business value. - Evolve and extend existing AI applications by introducing new capabilities and adapting them to changing business needs. - Help teams adopt AI by providing technical guidance, facilitating workshops, and supporting experimentation. - Translate business problems into scalable AI solutions by combining strong software engineering with modern AI technologies. - Collaborate with other AI engineers to reuse shared components, contribute improvements, and avoid duplicated effort. - Develop reusable patterns, coding standards, and best practices that strengthen Axpo´s AI engineering community. - Stay up to date with the latest AI technologies and continuously explore how they can create value across the business. - Help prioritize AI initiatives based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic impact. What you bring - A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience building software applications using latest AI technologies. - Strong Python development skills and experience building cloud-based applications using CI/CD, DevOps practices, Azure services, and Agile development methodologies. - Experience with LLM APIs, agentic workflows, RAG, orchestration frameworks, AI coding assistants, or similar technologies. - The ability to quickly turn ambiguous business challenges into working prototypes. - Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with stakeholders from diverse business functions. - A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for discovering opportunities and driving innovation. - Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or Databricks is a plus. - Fluent in English; German is a plus.
